Terms of Service
Last updated:
These terms govern your use of GamePile ("the app"), a free game-backlog organizer for Android and iOS, and of this website. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy, which explains what happens to your data.
1. Who provides the service
GamePile is provided by Mariusz Górski, an individual developer in Poland, as a personal project. You can reach him at [email protected].
2. Accepting these terms
By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not create an account. You can read the app's public pages, including this one and the Privacy Policy, without an account.
3. Who may use it
The app is not directed at children. If you are below the age of digital consent that applies where you live — between 13 and 16 in the European Union, depending on the country — please do not create an account without your parent or guardian's permission.
4. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for what is done with your account. One account per person; do not share it or sign in to someone else's.
Your gamertag is the name other users see. It must not impersonate another person or be chosen to offend.
5. What you may not do
When you use the app or this website, you may not:
- post or send harassment or bullying, including of another user;
- post hateful or discriminatory content;
- post sexual content;
- send spam or attempt a scam;
- impersonate another person;
- try to reach another user's account, data the app does not show you, or the service's internals;
- scrape the service automatically, or send it traffic that degrades it for others.
6. What you write, and who sees it
What you write in the app — diary entries, notes, recommendation notes, your gamertag — remains yours. You give us only the permission needed to store it and to show it to the audience you chose: a private diary entry to nobody but you, a public one to your confirmed friends, a recommendation note to the friend you sent it to. We do not use it for anything else, except that content someone reports is sent to the developer to review, as described below.
You are responsible for what you write. Please do not post other people's personal information.
7. Reporting, blocking and moderation
You can report a diary entry, a recommendation or a gamertag that breaks these terms, and you can block another user. A block is not announced to the person you block, and it ends any friendship between you.
A report is sent to the developer, who reviews it by hand and may, at his discretion, remove the reported content, clear a gamertag, or suspend an account. The service is run by one person, so no review time is promised.
8. Game information from third parties
Game details, cover art and playtime estimates come from IGDB, HowLongToBeat and RAWG, and trailers are played from YouTube. This information may be incomplete or wrong. None of these services endorses GamePile, and their content remains subject to their own terms.
9. Suspension and ending your account
You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time, and it will be deleted within 30 days. Before you go, you can download your whole record from the web panel.
The developer may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. A suspended account is told by email that it has been suspended; if you believe it is a mistake, write to [email protected].
10. The service is free and provided as is
GamePile is free and has no purchases of any kind. It is developed and run by one person and is provided as it is, without a promise that it will always be available or free of errors. Features may change, and the service may be discontinued; if that happens, you will be told in advance where possible so you can export your data.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for losses caused by the service being unavailable, by data being lost, or by third-party game information being wrong.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, including liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence and for personal injury, and nothing in them affects your rights as a consumer.
12. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the new version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date. If a change affects your rights, you will be told about it by email before it takes effect.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by Polish law. If you use the app as a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring any dispute before the courts that have jurisdiction under those laws.
